Cold Air Intake\Exhaust on a 2000 GT

I recently changed out the exhaust and intake on my motorcycle and really liked the results. I had to buy a power commander and have the shop put it on the Dyno in order to get it to run right afterwards though. Does anyone have any experience doing this with a 4.6?

I have a 2000 GT Mustang all stock and I'd like to open up the intake and the exhaust. More for sound than performance really. Also it’s an automatic if that makes a difference. Would I need a computer chip as well and then Dyno it - or can I just plug it all in and go? This is my daily ride so I don't want to get to crazy.

I'm also looking for opinions on what exhaust would give me the beefiest rumble for the buck :)

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: Cold Air Intake\Exhaust on a 2000 GT

Your car will not need a tune after basic mods like this and you should feel a decent "seat of the pants" increase in performance as well.

I have SLP Loudmouth 1 exhaust on both my 93 5.0 and my 96 Cobra. If you want beefy rumble, you can't beat SLP. Bear in mind that good exhaust tone is in the ear of the beholder. I'd recommend visiting a local Mustang show. Get there early and listen to the cars as they come in. If you hear something you like, ask the owner what they're running.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I'll hunt down a show and keep my ears open!
