Constant yet Intermittent Misfire
My 2001 V6 Mustang (87K miles) has been misfiring for some time now. I replaced the plugs and it got better for awhile. Then I replaced the wires with Motorcraft wires and again it got better, but still misfires. It seems to be slowly getting worse again. I've also replaced the fuel filter, etc. The CEL is NOT on, yet my code reader shows a P0300. Autozone's code reader showed nothing. I've read that the coil could be failing - but it could also be injectors or who knows what. Being that there are no definitive codes, I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to throw parts at it, and I would rather not pay someone big bucks to replace a part that has shown to be the typical cause of the misfiring. Right now the car runs like crap. But no CEL! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
