couple problems with 95 mustang - Ford Forums

I just purchased a 95 mustang convertable.. Have two problems the minor one is the converable top will not let up or down I can hear it making a sound but will not let up or down does work manualy thou...

The Major problem is the car will only get up to like 25 30 miles per hour then sputter.. some times it will take off then some times it just stays at that speed even with the petal to the floor. If i sit in netual and idle it will rev up to like 4000 rpm then just drop back to 1000 sputter and then rev back up any ideas

You may need a new pump on the top.I'd check into that first,and on the car bogging down or sputtering check the catalytic converter,back sure it's not clogged.

If the car runs fine until it gets hot the converter might be the issue.
