Did ford make a mistake by only adding 15 HP to the 2010 GT?
With the 2010 Camaro Sporting 426hp and running 13.0 @ 111 mph in the 1/4. with a maxed out SS2 that will top 34K the same price as a maxed out GT premium.
I think so, if the Mustang goes not receive 400 hp in 2011 I am afraid the Camaro will for one out sell the Mustang... I will not look forward to be being beat at the track in the coming months

Ford have some other engines on the go right now that I'm sure will power the Mustang in the near future.
To be honest Ford have more upgrades to engines and vehicle line up than GM. I understand GM has dropped much of it's future product planning as they have no funds. Ford has continued on and has in fact put alot more input into forward product plans.
I'm confident you will see something new in the near future arrive to power the Mustang at least in the upper end models.
We have the turbo V6 from the Taurus SHO that surely must find it's way to the Mustang as well.

You're assuming that GM will still be in business in 2011. (let's pray that they are).
Chevy will be around for a long time, I have doubt abour Buick and Pontiac, GM can Axe those and survive quite well. they can divide the truck and fleet to GMC and Luxury Cars to Cadillac. They got a lot of extra capital to play with so I have no worry about GM...
I sure hope they do add a stronger motor across the entire line, Ford Mustang Gets Outsold by Dodge Challenger Last Month and YTD. this may be the headline lator this year with the Camaro...
When I first read about the Ford Mustang getting outsold by the Dodge Challenger for February and YTD sales I actually got a good laugh. My laughter was pure amusement as I really don't think everybody is comparing apples to apples. Yes the Dodge Challenger outsold the Mustang for February and YTD sales but sales of the Mustang over the last two months have been the worst in their 45-year history and also the fact a new refreshed 2010 Mustang model is about to hit dealer lots in April so nobody is buying now. Another driving factor for the 2009 Dodge Challenger is they are offering for the first time three different models which should increase sales.
For those curious what the numbers are, the Dodge Challenger sold 3,283 units in February, the Ford Mustang sold 2,990, a difference of 293 cars. YTD sales for the Dodge Challenger are 6,040 to the Mustangs 5,934. To read more about Mustang sales check out my latest post on February Mustang sales with links to the past years sales.

I hope that you're right. I don't see Pontiac, Hummer or Saturn being around much longer. I still worry about GM, much more so than Ford. With Chrysler it would seem to be just a matter of time before Cerberus gets itself out of the auto business. Let's hope for survival and good health for all three. A Mustang/Camaro/Challenger market competition is a healthy thing as long as the economy can support it.

By this time next year the economy will be fine, clicking right along and this blip will be a distant memory.. as soon as the credit starts flowing again and people feel good about spending we will rebound we always do..

Here's my opinion: The Mustang is more for the "masses", so it is more affordable the way it is. The Camaro will be sold as a "niche", high end market vehicle, not the way it used to be marketed, therefore it is more expensive than the Mustang, if only for the higher HP, and the IRS alone. I believe Ford , by not offering a higher HP engine in the Mustang lineup, prevents encroaching on the GT500. If you want a higher HP Mustang, you will have to go for the GT500, GT is middle of the road, and the base is the V6. I haven't seen too many Challengers around, they are nice to look at, but they're just too big to me, and 4100 lbs!?!
I love the '10 Mustang, they really got it right, EXCEPT for the taillights!!!

I disagree about the Pricing of theCamaro being more exspensive.
Mustang V6 Starting at $20,995
Camaro LS V6 Starting at $22,245
