Disabling Smartlock

My friend is has done a conversion using a 94 Fairlane 5 Litre into a Courier. He has used the standard Fairlane computer except is having problems getting it top run right because it doesn't have the smartlock etc that was in the Fairlane so he wanted to know is there a way around this or is there someone out there who could disable it for him etc.

Re: Disabling Smartlock

Contact Castle Auto Electrics. They have a SmartLock simulator to install in the wiring loom so that the computer will run without haveing the smart lock system.

It provides the Smartlock deactivated signal to the EEC it does not provide any of the functions like remote start etc.

You will find that without Smartlock diasbled that you cannot install a remote start alarm and have it work (not that I see a point to these) but that is where data_mine is coming from

Re: Disabling Smartlock

Dellboy is a good mind reader.

I bought me a high end 2-way pager alarm, and it has remote start as a option, never got it working unless I leave the key in the ignition!!!. But it'd be a nice feature for the hot hot hot summer days we get here.

The alarm also has a turbo timer feature, might have to get a turbo now :D
