Dist. Rotor Doesn't Spin

I pulled the dist. out and the gear is still attached and secure.
When I turn the motor over, it doesn't move.
Any suggestions or thoughts?

Ok as this is a follow up on the thread you posted earlier in which I thought the roll pin had sheared off as well.

If you are certain it is not the pin sheared then I'm afraid it must be more serious.
Have a look where the distributer came out from and check the gear that is on the camshaft. If this looks ok and not chewed out then turn the engine over slowly and see if this gear is turning.
If it is not turning then there may be a problem with the timing chain or gears or perhaps the keyway or something worse.

Does the dist shaft spin freely in your hand and not siezed. Be aware that often if the pin shears then the gear still is attached but it simply turns on the shaft instaed of spinning the rotor.
