Im currently having trouble with my ecu in my 1991 EB XR8 Falcon, its continuing to show me that there is a Fault with my EGR Valve, ive replaced it, traced out the loom to a wiring diagram, its showing me that the wiring is continuous. the final suspect in the manual is that the ECU is faulty so ive come up with the conclusion that it must be. now the problem lies in wether to replace the computer with an XH* XR8 ute one (apparently works and has a much better fuel map) or get the one i have Re-Programmed. I've also got a power chip gold 98 chip for the EB ECU, its not connected at the moment because i've been told that if code 34 is showing it throws the computer into a what some refer to as a "Limp Mode". which makes the car run on minimal performance. what i also wanto know is will i need a new powerchip for the XH* XR8? or could i simply get my chip reprogrammed. has anyone tryed using a XH* XR8 ute ECU in an EB 5 Litre? Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

(N.B. * - XH XR8 has a similar front to the EL sedans but is an XR8 ute)
