EL XR6 ECU...iNTo My Ed XR6..Help Required with wiring...
Hi guys i have an el xr6 ecu and EL Broadband manifold i will be putting into my ed xr6....i need help on which wires/pins from the ecu r for the au knock sensor i will be using...one of the pins is pin 23 for the knock sensor does anyone know which pin is for the other wire on the knock sensor and with the Broadband manifold switch...one of the wires is pin 15 and the other wire where does that go...help would be appreciated...cheers...

Re: EL XR6 ECU...iNTo My Ed XR6..Help Required with wiring...
my wiring diagram says the other wire for the knock sensor runs to the power steering pressure switch, which is pin 46 black/white wire.
the other wire for the inlet manifold appears to be pin 57, the same the injectors run off.
I don't know heaps about wiring though I think both of these wires are in some way power wires, or run a voltage to run each particular item. The reason I say this is because pin 57 I had to use when I had my shift kit in, and when I converted to manual I had to use pin 46 for one of three things,
1) In conjucntion with another wire to stop thermos running constantly.
2) In conjunction with another wire to make ecu think it's in neutral.
3) This was the one wire used that the other two wires were wired to via resistors, (hope that makes sense).
If I were you I would splice into the pins mentioned in my post connect them up and see if they work, if they don't a small bit of electrical tape will fix my misinformation. I have followed the wiring on my diagram and these are the pins that the wires end up at.
actually looking closer (don't mean to alarm you) the inlet manifold could be either 37 or 57 or possibly won't matter which you go for, both wires are red.
and to recap knock sensor is 46 black/white wire.
and sorry if evil chief already answered this question it looks like a lot to read and I am lazy

what car is that in? remember older falcons had a standalone transmission unit
Re: EL XR6 ECU...iNTo My Ed XR6..Help Required with wiring...
hey guys... just so everyone knows...i asked a expert today and found out that to run a knock sensor to an el xr6 manual computer and run it with a broadband manifold you must hook up the two knock sensor wires to pin 23 on the el ecu and pin 46 as was mentioned...to run the broadband manifold switch one of the wires go to pin 5 and another to pin 15 on the el ecu...i am doing this conversion on my ed xr6 falcon....cheers
Re: EL XR6 ECU...iNTo My Ed XR6..Help Required with wiring...
pins 5 and 46 aren't required as they are ignition and ground, but if you are running wires to the ECU anyway it's probably just as easy.
Just for reference heres the descriptions for pins 5, 15, 23 and 46
5 Ignition Power 12V with Ignition On
15 Broadband Manifold <3800RPM 0V, >3800RPM 12V
23 Knock Sensor +3V Engine Running
46 Signal Ground 0Volts
Re: EL XR6 ECU...iNTo My Ed XR6..Help Required with wiring...
Yeap thats right thanks michael...i thread the wires through and soldered them on to ecu adaptor...now just a matter of putting on the manifold...the rest should be easy...gotta have a crack at drilling into the rocker cover to position the throttle cable... cheers
