I recently aquired a 1986 Mustang GT with a 5.0 H.O. engine but rumor says
it is not the original engine. How can I identify it so I can purchase the
correct parts for a rebuild? Appreciate your help.
You can decode the build plate and that will tell you what engine was in the car also there should be a plate or stamp on the engine itself to decode. It is easy to do just Google.
