Which engine oil for Mustang?
It's time for changing the engine oil for my 97 GT. It will be my first change, the previous owner was using Castrol Magnetic.
I was planning to use either Castrol SLX or Mobile-1. After searching over the Internet I found AMSOIL. In AMSOIL pages I also found some information about additives such as double-up, which they say that the performance of those additives has not proven yet.
I kindly ask you if there is a neutral web page to compare the oils and these additives? I still have problems about those 20W-50 numbers, has anyone know a content to learn about oil?
Would you also recommend to use any additives in the engine such as double-up? Do you recommend Castrol SLX? What should be the period of changing the Castrol SLX and oil filter. Do you think it's worth to go with AMSOIL? Any ideas?
