Need some help. My front end begins shake (feel it in the steering wheel) when I brake. I just replaced the tires, had them rebalanced again, had the front end aligned. The brakes are barely a year old. Visual inspection of rotors seems ok?? Any thoughts on what the problem is?

Sounds like rotors are warped. Take em off and have them checked and turned.

You say it happens when you brake, more than likely that's going to be your problem. You can't see if a rotor is warped by visual inspection, it has to be put on a lathe.

You can try swapping the wheels (front to back), and see if that changes anything, as jwko mentioned, it's more than likely warped rotors.

Just a thought, but if you find yourself braking hard when going downhill, shift the transmission into a lower gear for longer decents to save the brakes. As in almost anything automotive - heat is your enemy.
