confused grinding noise 95 gts

hey guys, just wondering if i can get some help on a problem im having with my 95 gts. when i accelerate im hearing a wierd, metal to metal sounding grinding noise coming from what i believe is my front passenger side tire. my bearings are packed, my brakes, calipers and pads are in great condition and the noise tends to intensify when i have passengers. any suggestions?

Re: grinding noise 95 gts

I had the same thing on a 94 Mercury Tracer. I found my new brake pads wore at a slight angle.

Cause: one of the two caliper sliders had siezed causing uneven braking pressure which inturn created noise on acceleration- just after a hard brake. This was due mainly because the caliper could not move away from the rotor. It also created some noise when braking hard as well.

My Fix- new caliper/sliders/ and yes- new pads.

This is easy to check before ordering any parts.
