I have a 97 mustang v8. the pedal is hard to push. Ive replaced the clutch kit , the cable , the firewall bushing, and the fulcrum under the dash. what else ??? I noticed the firewall is cracked, could that be the problem ?

How does the pedal move if you disconnect the cable from theclutch fork? If it moves easily, the problem is the clutch itself.

I think it's the old story , what came first , the chicken or the egg ? The bulkhead / firewall has probably cracked due to the heavy clutch , not vice versa if you get my gist . As suggested , check if it's an external linkage / cable fault first . If not that , looks like it must be clutch assembly , probably pressure plate / diaphram .
