Headers Are In!

Well the Tri-y headers are in my 68 Mustang. I was stressing out because I had read in another post on another forum that this guy went through "Phoenix in July" just to get his installed. Mine literally slipped in from the bottom. It really was a snap! Good thing too, because, they're going to have to come out.

Don't know if most of you remember a post I did several months ago about header paint? I went ahead and purchased a $25.00 can of satin black from a reputable company. Had the headers sandblasted and cleaned according to the directions on the can. Painted the headers according to the directions on the can. Hey, even added a second coat to the headers after a week of the first coat curing (according to the directions on the can).

Right now, after heat curing the paint, according to the directions on the can, I can go out to my garage, open the hood and literally "rub" the paint off with my thumb.

It isn't the price of the paint that I'm peeved about, oh no! It's the time I need to take off to do the proceedure over again (not painted this time). Add to this that I have two Mustang shows (one MCA event) in the next two weeks and there is no way that I can have the headers redone.

Well thought you might like to know that I learned my lesson. Next time I won't be a cheap a$$. I'll just go ahead & have them jet coated after the shows.
