I have a 96 GT and I am having trouble with getting the top bolt on the starter off. I have read I need a 3/8 swivel and an extension "just the right size". If anyone has more details that could help me it would be great! I am tired of not being able drive her due to such a small problem.
Sounds like you've been given good advice. The right tols make a big difference. The right combination of swivel and extensions can make a difficult job much easier. They also make sockets that swivel. Very handy.
Actually AutoZone has 3/8 extentions that will allow the exact angle you're looking for. I had to purchase a set to get the starter off\on my 94 3.8. They let the socket swivel like 3-5 degrees
