I've got to have more power!

Well, I know this is going to make you all laugh, but I have a '93 mustang w/ a 2.3L 4 cylinder engine. I know, most of you are going They make those? yea, they do. I was just wondering if any of you can suggest a way to get more power out of it without a major modification (i.e., a new engine, which I will swap out as soon as I turn 18).... one of my friends suggested a new cam..... I can't really think of anything I can do to a 4 cylinder. I've got this beautiful mustang w/ a great redone paint job and new racing stripes, and a great sounding flowmaster exhaust. My LX is gone from the back, and now all the ricers in town think it's a 5.0 and they all rev it up at me at stoplights and take off like they think I'm gonna compete. It's nice that ppl think it sounds like a 5L, and I think it's a great looking car, but I'd really like to have it be faster. I will be going to the track w/ some friends soon, just to time it. I'll let you know my 1/8 mile times (no 1/4 track here)

Thanks in advance for your help

Well, a after market header and a cold air intake might help. If they make them for that engine.

Re: I've got to have more power!

I guess I'd settle for quicker accleration, b/c top end doesn't matter a whole lot, b/c I won't be doing a whole lot of racing past 60ish... learned my lesson when I got pulled over doing 80 in a 45 (cop said it was 80... closer to 90... don't know for sure, speedo stops at 85) (oh yea, speed limit dropped to 35 there too... nice cop, gave me a talking to and talked to my parents instead of bankrupting me w/ a ticket)....... my friend sent me something... made specifically for a 91-93 2.3L mustang..... replaces the stock air filter w/ a conical filter w/ a NOS line built in... automatically calibrated, nothing you do besides run the line and replace the filter... I thought that was cool.... 699 price tag tho.... I'd just like to be able to beat some of those ricer econoboxes off the line... I'd like a little pep to go w/ my beastly sounding, great looking car... thanks for your help

sup

What do you want? Do you want to have a higher top speed like going 160mph or do you want to go from red light to red light in like 2.0secs. You have to choose between torque or hp.
