When I moved into my new home I found a mustang hood in the garage. I have a Ford part number and am trying to trace it to a specific year model for the mustang.
I'm hoping someone here can direct me to a location where I can do this.

At this point, thou, I would need a picture in order to tell you what hood you have.

thanks for the come back. Makes me think perhaps I've misread the part number off the hood since alot of the ones you listed above are pretty close but not exact.
what makes you think it's from a car a lot older than the ones you listed?
Does the second line of data I included in my orig post make sense to anyone?
If I were to call a Ford dealer and ask him, would he look up my hood's info and tell me what car it belongs to?
OR>>>
if I took the hood to a dealer, would he be able to tell by looking at it?
The second line may not mean much. They usually stamp a date code and build code onto them so they can trace the day and the line that it was made on so if there are problems with a part then they can find out which line is making it.
The XP33 part will most likely be the bit that will tell you what you need to know. It will refer to the years for production.
The 16612 simply refers to the part being a hood ,thats why all the other hoods have that same number in them.
Ask your Ford dealer and if he is a nice person ,may spend the time looking for you or if you posted a photo of it on here then someone will most likely be able to tell you what year it belongs to.
