Read Mustang Vs Monaro

Interesting read about teh the two coupes. I think it's fair to say that they should of compared the HSV equivelant Monaro GTO to the Mustang.

Anyways here are the times:

Mustang
0-100 6.62 sec and 0-400m 14.71 sec

Monaro
0-100 7.02 sec and 0-400m 14.98 sec

Motor commented the sound of the Mustang as quote "being one of the richest engine notes this side of an Italian exotic".

the monaro is not performing as well as holden claims. it's much slower...

did you see they picked Monaro over the Mustang for looks?! what's wrong with these people?! the mustang is a great looking car! monaro's a 2 door commodore.

Must admit I like the both of them.. Monaro's really grown on me. Seen a few in the flesh around town and they cut the mustard IMO..

The Mustang CAN look good (lowered, top down, etc. check out the yellow one doing the show circuit), but standard they look a bit naff IMHO. If you think the ride height of a Falcon is too high check out one of those babies - they look like a bloody Hilux. But oh my god how good do they sound..........

yeah from other test a standard SS would do better than a 7.02! oh well the slower the better for holden! Also in wheels magazine the M3 did 0-100 in 5.7 other tests i've seen like a 5.2

with me it's quite the opposite. i could bear to look at the monaro at first, but now i can't stand the sight of it.

We had the GTO press car (dark green, with tan interior :crazy1:) at work for a day and interior aside, it looked bloody sensational. Drew a fair bit of attention as well.
