I am looking to put a modular type engine in place of my 347,so I need to get rid of my shock towers in my 68.
I was told I can run mustang 2 suspension.
Has anybody done this or seen it done?
I have never seen a mustang 2 suspension set up.Can any show me some pictures?

Here is a pic of a 4.6ltr Cobra motor fitted to an early Mustang by DVS Restorations (note shock towers still intact)

Here is what a Mustang II suspension crossmember assembly conversion kit (what a mouth full!) looks like.

McPherson strut conversion, also can "notch" the shock towers for extra clearance.

Another swap that works on early falcons (same engine bay dimentions as 64-66 mustangs not sure about 67-68 you would have to do a check IE: wheel track )
Mitsubishi L300 Aprox 84-86 front end
Already ford pattern disc brakes
1/2" wider track than early falcon (check mustang) still legal width
Radious rods fit right into std mounts
Bolts on by drilling 4 mounting holes in sub frame & fitting crush tubes
TC-D cortina rack & pinion is corect width just have to fab mounting bracket
Swap is legal by rta

Mustang Illustrated magazine covered the modular motor transplant (inc supercharger) for early mustangs(they used a 66 coupe) in a 5 part series in 97/98. I don't have all the issues, but they removed the strut towers completely. If you were at the Vineyard show, I could have brought a copy with me.
