Ok guy I have a 2001 cobra convertible am looking to add headers and a cold air intake I was wondering if I would have to tune it or not ? Just looking to add a little horsepower and looks to it can someone help..
CAI and headers will allow it to breath easier, a tune is not necessary. It can give you better performance, though, and a CAI with headers can enhance its affects.
A tune is recommended anytime you change the airflow. Without proper tuning, your engine will probably run lean, and as Cat said, you won't get the benefit of your parts without a tune. Why spend the money for performance parts if you don't benefit? Ford (FRPP) included a tune program with just the cold air intake, on my GT 500.
Thanks guys thats exactly wut I needed to know now to find the most compatible parts bbk sounds like the way to go for the packages what do u guys think...?
I try to keep my Shelby all Ford or Shelby, just to keep it original. But there are many quality products available and BBK Performance is certainly one of them.
One thing I have learned over many years of modding cars is to save and tag your old parts, every last nut and bolt! Some day your Mustang Cobra will be worth a fortune, if completely stock.
