confused overheating problem

i have a 66 mustang that i put a 302 engine in from an 84 model. I have bought a new water pump, heater core, radiator as well as replaced all the lines and hoses and car still over heats, i am using an after market intake and dont think this should be a problem but i am running out of ideas, the engine was just rebuilt as well and doesnt smoke the car just gets hot. Any help would be greatly appricated.
