I have yet to find anything on my 06' stang to complain about until I started seeing that white crap that forms on those cheap as hell battery terminals.It forms on the positive side. The negative side is as clean has a hospital. Does anyone know what causes this? I do run the pioneer radio at lunch when I'm chillin. And I would like to have control over those interior dome lights, and the dash board standard lighting burns juice and don't forget the trunk light. I cleaned the terminals for the first time { the car is a year old} 3 months later it's back. I will admit I am anal about my stang. I want everything clean from the dif oil to the antifreeze. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

maybe a Gel battery... I'm pretty sure your going to get that with an acid battery no matter what

Hi 70 cougar, your car is smokin, dig that color. How many ponies does she kick out? Thanks for the info on my battery. It's not a big deal, as my friends say.I guess their right. A lot worse issues can come up. It just bugs the hell out of me. Thanks again, peace out.

The problem is caused by tiny amounts of acid and vapor that leak around the terminal and react with the different metals. You can slow down (almost stop) this process with the felt donuts that are impregnated with a light oil that are sold (cheap) at auto parts stores.

Truly sealed batteries (like the Optima series) do not experience this problem.
