I am looking for a tool or some piece of electronic gear I can put on my EA.

I have paid good money for a mechanic to run his machine on thge motor to tell me the leads and coil was stuffed. I recon with the right tool I could do it my self.
I have read some threads were bloke seem to be runnin g their own diagnostic and I wonder how you fellows do it.

The Haymes manual tells how to make a LED probe and connect it to the output sensor, anyone done this.

I would be interested in any suggestion.

I have built my own using and LED and piezo buzzer and bought a ready made Equus code reader from the US for around $20. The home built works fine but the ready built is more convenient and not too much more expensive.
