I have a 70 mustang with a six cylinder engine that i'm trying to keep running, the problem is that the sway bar hits the oil pan while driving around, i've replaced the big sway bar bushings in front but this problem continues, any ideas?

It has been awhile since I saw the underside of a '70- let alone with a 6.

Things that pop into my head that could affect the geometry and cause this issue:

1. bushings- which you already did.
2. Sway bar link bolts to the control arm- sometimes these bend slightly and can cause the bar to be in the incorrect position. Just pop them off to check them.
3. Sagging or weak springs can cause more tension on the sway bar.
4. Worn or sagging motor mounts allowing the engine to dip down further.
4. Is it the original engine? Maybe it has a special oil pan?

yeah, i suppose it could be any of those things, probably even a combination of all, my springs seem okay, no stress cracks ort anything but they are stock 1970, thats the story with most everything under there, i got the engine rebuilt a while back and the mounts looked great, since it's my daily driver and the new mounts i recieved were wrong i just used the old ones.
