confused Ticking

For awhile now my car has been having a ticking noise coming from under the hood every once in a while when I'm cruising. But the other day I park it and let idle and it started ticking loudly. It sounded loudest at the rear of the engine on the driver's side. I've read some info saying that ticking means not enough lubrication, but the oil is at the full mark. Any ideas?

Re: Ticking

Much more info would be needed. It could be as simple as a exhaust leak or as serious as a flat lobe on one of the cams.
