hi, i have a 07 mustang GT with a HPperformance stage 2 turbo kit mated to a livernoise block that has been in the shop for a few weeks due to tuning. The shop said the EMS is going haywire under high boost 24psi. I own another turbo mustang it is a 93 GT conv my first car that whent together like bread and butter its on 8psi stock block for a few years now, no trouble. Is the shop BS me? I live in San Diego and have never seen or heard of a turbo mustang around here so is it just lack of exp?

Wow all I can say is 24 psi is really high boost and the engine will need to have some good tuning and management to run reliably on that. It will need an engine management program done specially for that setup. If they are trying to get that to run on the original engine management then I doubt it will cope. SCT have flash tuners and programs that will work on the ECU/PCM but will require a tuner that knows how to tune for it. One of our sponsors "5 Star Tuning" on here may be able to help you out with this.

JMC has the car now and they are using Diablo predator. I whent to see the car friday to see on the progress and the story now is that HPperformance sent corrupte data on the new tune and now they have to rewright the tune all over. I been talking to the owner of another shop JBA about taking over on the car. I will call JMC tomarrow and if nothings done JBA can have a go at it. The present tune is 18psi i dont understand why this has become a never ending story for a few more pounds.

That is still serious boost. This car is going to go hard on 24 psi. It will be interesting to hear how it all goes but it sounds like they may be onto the problem. It will have to have a very good tune program to run at that lvl and really it should have its own tune written from doing dyno runs so they can get it perfect. It could end in tears if the tune is not right.

Would love to hear more about the car and how it goes when you get it setup properly.

The car already claimed one block the stock one at 9psi through a rod though both sides you could see right through it. I would not recomend putting that block under any boost. Once JMC pulled the block out and i looked at the insides the rods are paper thin just a matter of time befor one goes. I will post some pics once i pick up my cam from my mums she lives down the road from JMC so i leave it there as a reason to stop by.
