is there an easy way to turn off the service engine soon light?

If you just need it off temporarily to pass an emissions test, you could disconnect the battery and then reconnect it. This only works on some cars (sometimes they can tell that you did this, others not... worked on older fords and hondas I've had, not on jeeps). You can only drive about a mile before it comes back on, so you'll need to do it around the corner from the emissions test place. Of course, checking the code and fixing the problem would probably make the light go off too =)
