confused Unsolvable Problem

about 2 months ago i bought a 2001 Mustang, it only had 37,000miles on it and i got it for an awesome price.

A week into driving the car the "service engine soon" light came on, we took it to the mechanics and they said it was the EVAP canister, so i got that replaced, 2 days later the "service engine soon" light comes on again, so i take it back and they clean out all the fuel system. 4 days later light comes on again, they tell me there is a gas leak, so they replace a small round ring, 4 days later light comes on again. they tell me it's the fuel cap.

And the light has come on again... I don't know what it is- and it's getting really expensive to have to keep going back.

All I know is that the light always comes on when i'm accelerating.

If anyone has any idea what this problem could be, i could really use the help!

Re: Unsolvable Problem

It doesn't sound like a proper diagnosis in the beginning. Have they given you the code they came up with? Autozone will check for free. I'd say to have a talk with the manager and let them know that what they've done hasn't fixed it. They should have given you a break on the repairs after the first one.

Welcome to the forums.

Re: Unsolvable Problem

I did go to Autozone had them check the codes, and three different things came up- and those all have been taken care of.

I also took it to the dealership and they told me the same thing Autozone did.

Is it possible that it could be something totally different?

Thank you!

Re: Unsolvable Problem

Who did the work? The dealership? If so, I'd go talk to the General manager and tell him what's going on.
