Hi guys,

I saw this early 80s Mustang at a car show recently & am keen to know what the proper name of this cowling is?

That's a 1983- they came stock with that.I would assume it's classified as a cowl hood, but I'm not sure whether it was actually functional. Why? Do you want one?

I'm seriously considering it! It appears that if the grille on the rear is removed, and a hole is cut in the existing bonnet, it'll be functional.

It's not something I'm desperate for, but if something came up on Ebay, I'd probably add it to my collection of goodies at home (GT40P heads with crow double springs, 1.7 roller rockers, 2031 cam, Explorer manifolds) and fit to the car when I have some money to play with.

I have an EB Falcon (Australian Ford sedan, 1991) with a 5.0 in it, but unfortunately I'm stuck with E7 heads and a HO manifold

The grill in the back is stationary- not part of the hood. You could take only that part that lifts up and have it molded to fit your hood.
I could probably find you one and ship it to you, if you'd be interested. I know where one was, in good shape- just a matter of whether it's available, still.

I would be interested thanks, but regarding payment, etc, I have never dealt with an overseas seller before, and I don't have a credit card. I'm assuming you wouldn't be too happy with Cash On Delivery.

Also, I assume shipping costs might be more than the actual cowling(!!!)

But please let me know what the approximate cost ($US) would come to for the cowling + shipping, as it would give me a good idea of whether it is worthwhile for me to continue looking into this or not.

Bwahahahahaha! Well she must've just had a drink of Adelaide tap water or something, coz those pix were taken at the SA All Ford Day last weekend

Ghia5L- I made some phone calls. Those cowlings are basically extinct, now. The local Mustang shop who GIVES me a ton of parts says he pulled well over $200 (over $145 AU) for his last one and it was broken on the front.

Well that's a shame, but you never know, I might get lucky on ebay (however I see postage costs exceeding the actual cost of the cowl, lol)!
