Will 2006 Mustang rims fit a 1997 mustang?

My mother has a 1997 Mustang with a V6. I'm guessing it's 3.8L. It has 5-lug rims, though I don't know the offset or the bolt pattern diameter. WIll 2006 mustang rims fit it, and are they the same offset? What is the offset of a 1997 mustang? What year rims are interchangable without problems? Can the larger 17" 2006 wheels be put on a 1997 without rubbing anywhere?

the bolt pattern is the same at 5x4.5, but the offset is diferent. they wont rub, but the wheels might not look like on the 97 stang. they have more of a FWD offset. But they will bolt up and not rub.

What is the offset for 1997 and what years have that same offset?
