07 focus automatic 2.0 high refs

Hi I recently got a 07 focus and while driving from a stop within the first 15 minutes of the car being run it will ref high like 4-6 rpms and then go back to normal aroun 2-3 rpms. It doesn't lurch or anything the engine just refs it doesn't effect anything yet just scary, can anyone tell me the issue?

Also a separate issue with the overdrive button. The light comes on saying OD off when I start the car then goes off but while driving if I push it the light doesn't come on so I don't know it OD is on or off or even working

Try cleaning the IAC, probably won't hurt to do the MAF and throttle body as well.

Ford Mustang IAC IAB - Solving your idle problems

This is for a different engine, but the technique is the same.

I'm going try that Saturday but you know I'm not having idling issues it is while actually moving? Is this still the cause?
