I have a 2002 Focus with the 2.0 DOHC. The battery light is on and pushing 12.1 according to the test mode on the car. I just put a new belt tensioner, and a new alternator in it. Also got the Battery checked and its good. Any help? Maybe I am missing something simple.... Haven't done much work on Fords.

It should be reading 13.8-14 volts at the battery when the car is on.

Maybe the wire from the alt to the battery is bad.

At 12.1 volts alternator is not charging .Could check wiring / plug at alternator .

I wouldn't rule out the pars store selling u a defective altenator. I just got a defective starter the other day, and a defective injector a couple months ago.
