I've searched here and found info on 2001 cars - but not a 2006... The owners manual isn't really clear - but is it necessary to change the transmission fluid every 30,000?

They don't show a recommendation to change it until 150,000 miles. I'd never wait that long though.

I just have my fluid and filter changed annually with my tuneup.

I just recently changed my transmission fluid when I changed my oil three weeks ago. It was the first time I had changed it since I put the Stage 2 clutch in back in October 08 and I had around 20,000 boosted miles on the fluid. I'm also doubling stock HP on a 07 putting it under heavy abuse every day so I feel it's justifiable. For your's, if it's just a stock daily driver, I would say every 60k miles.
