I recently purchased a sub setup and was going to wait until the spring to go ahead and install it.
I want to be able to work around not needing to purchase a new CD player (the sub setup came with a kenwood cd player but if I don't need it why bother with a new dash) yet since it would most likely require a special dash replacement so a 3rd party one can be installed. I did find one for $40 from Ovations but have no idea how to install it if I were to buy it. SO maybe a how to link if at all possible would be wonderful.
Second part:
Does the current stock CD/MP3 head unit have RCA connectors? A few people I talked to said some newer cars are actually starting to have RCA's standard on their cd players. Mine has the whole AUX connector for my iPhone or any other audio playing device.
It would be wonderful if it does, and how to remove the dash piece would be greatly appreciated.
I don't want to go the route of splicing the rear speakers to inline the sub using a converter. IF there was a way to do it with a new wiring harness that goes into the cd player itself that would also be an option.
Just curious I have an SE(non sync) 2008 focus. I am getting ready to put in an aftermarket HU. What kind of wiring harness did you buy I cant find any except for one that is like 130.00!? Thanks
