ac/heater problem

I am getting water in from under the dash behind the glove compartment which is running onto the passenger floor, the windows are also steaming up, could this be a problem with the a/c or heater

Re: ac/heater problem

has it been in for a service recently and had the cabin filter replaced if so take it back and tell them that the cover has not been sealed correctly if not then its down to you to reseal the black rubber cover on the passenger side to do this put the wippers in the upright position take off the rubber grill i think its one screw under the little plastic cover (there are 3 but only the left one comes off to reveale screw the other two are clips you need 2 sealing strips about £1 20 each, its a very poxy idea not one of henry's best personally i have run around the edge with a clear silicone sealer if you manage to break a clip guess what you have to buy the complete rubber grill nice *****

Sounds like the heater core may be leaking.

Re: ac/heater problem

Suggest following the thread "UK Focus 1.6 '01, rain or water intruding into
passenger footwell" posted 30/07/05. Sounds like exactly the same problem

Re: ac/heater problem

I guess this is what fastbysuzuki is talking about.
UK Focus 1.6 '01, rain or water intruding into passenger footwell

Although I didn't notice in that thread that the windshield was steaming up, which often indicates a bad heater core, it could still be the problem.

Re: ac/heater problem

If it happens with heat/ac, it's probably your heater core. If it happens when it rains, it is probably the cabin filter, as suggested by fastbysuzuki.

Re: ac/heater problem

So, no screen wash and water ingress...are the two connected? If not I'd be looking at a blocked washer pump filter.
