Aircon problem - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hi Guys

Just wondering if anyone has given their aircon (cold setting) a work out as yet. We've had a couple of reasonably warm days over here in the west over the last couple of weeks and the airconditioning in my car has been woeful.

I know it's got a lot of glass but if it's like this on a 25C day I'm going to be toast in the middle of summer!

Just trying to get an idea before I give the service guys a call whether this is single car issue or a more generic problem.

bought my car last February/March and having spent a few warm days in it (well, quite a few due to a late winter) I am totally happy with it. Never had a problem, was actually quite surprised that a Euro car would have such a decent air con system. It heats better than any car I've ever been in and demists like you wouldn't believe, but equally it cools pretty quick and I very rarely have it on 4, if at all. Tinting might help it stay cooler in summer too, but otherwise get it checked out. It's not exactly Ford Falcon standard, but no complaints from me so far.

i've used mine a few times and its been cold as ice. and it heats real quick to. if your having problems i would take it to the service guys and see what they say.....the air con is supposed one of the foci's strong points as far as i know from talking to people who've owned them in europe

even on the highwat in summer i had very little problems with it. Mush better than the embarrasingly bad Mondeo with 2.0L Zetec Mum used to own. Now that was just a dash with 4 vents and a rat backing up to each vent farting constantly. It had no effect and could barely be felt.

Definately take it in for servicing. Sounds like there is an issue that should be covered under warranty.

Must have been something wrong. My Mondeo was great, the air con was the most powerful of any of my cars, except for perhaps the Focus now. A few seconds and the car was at the right temperature, I loved it. Part of the reason I bought a Focus, another Zetec Ford from Europe.

Have you looked when the air is on to see wether the front half of the compressor is spinning,if they are low on gas the compressor wont spin,it's a good tell tale sign that there's something wrong,mine did this and was low on gas, when I had this problem it also went cold and warm at time's when the air was on.
