I'm not sure about sedans, but the build plate on all hatch Foci I have ever seen indicate they are built at Saarlouis, Germany, to date.

I'm not sure about 04 plate cars, Ford could have swapped which factories they are imported from I guess.

chevaps, you can deduce where your car was built by looking at the VIN sequence. Should read WFOBXXD something if it's a Focus off the top of my head. Check out the following link and here's a VIN for example.... a 3dr July 2004 complied Zetec sample.

WFO = Ford Werke A.G (Germany)
B = 3 door hatchback
XX = standard digits in all vins
G= Germany Assembly line
C=Saarlouis (Germany)
D=Focus
B=3 Door Hatch
4=2004 Build
C=May build
55555= (just made this up for security reasons) 5 digit production sequence number

I just had a look on my VIN plate and it has the WFO and GC stamped in it, so if Zetec is right in what the letters stand for, my car was still made in Germany in July this year. So even the newer ones are still being made in Germany.

The point is guys that different models and specs of Focus are made in different factories. On and off it is the largest selling car in the world, and they don't all come out of one factory. But they don't build some zetecs here and some there. Zetecs will be made at one factory, Sedans at another etc
