Trade it in for a ST170

The calipers have also been revised and ABS and EBD control come as standard. When you consider the size of its brakes it makes sense that we didn't encounter any brake fade during our road test! High marks here.

Or go one better and get RS brakes - 325mm ventilated Brembos front and 280mm rears.
Realistically, Ford do a 'safety pack' for the CL which gives it disc rears and ABS brakes, not sure on the cost from them though. Talk to Infocus Motorsport about a setup also. Either way, it'll cost you, as you will be buying the whole rear end brake setup plus ABS module etc.
Hope that helps a little. Sorry I can't make it cheap, unless we mob an ST170 owner and strip their car as planned!

How much boost?
I already looked into this before i got my car. A set of Brembo 325mm RS equivalents (note only front set) will set you back approx $3500 Aus. This comes with a complete kit though for the front. Cant find a kit for rears. This is online prices in the US and UK as a guide.
Not only that, for the 325mm you would need 18's at the front so that the brakes fit, but WASACL already has em, so no probs for him there.
I asked my dealer if they have connections with international Ford dealers so that i can get a hold of some RS foci parts, but no prevail.
I would have got the safety pack with ABS and rear discs with my car, but i was told i would have had to wait 3 months, coz its a factory fit option... Stuff That
Ouch... Bit over kill for the CL guys... Remember it only puts out 86kw not 186kw!
How hard is ABS conversion?

i dont think its that hard. Cost wise might hurt though. for a ford focus abs system, i think the front are already compatible with abs, but the rears are gone need a conversion to dics and hook up an abs unit to the sensors on the brakes.
Im pretty sure abs work with sensors picking up how fast the rotor discs are rotating and comparing it to speed of the vehicle. Its something to with the inside of the rotor, look at the fronts in between the inside and outside part of the rotor, you'll see some things goin across the rotor. Thats what makes me think that the fronts are already compatible for an abs unit and just the rears need a conversion to discs.
A zetec setup shall suffice. Brakes and abs are on my to do lists of mods too.
chevaps - correct. The inside of the rotors have metallic block pickups, which are detected to determine the speed of the individual wheel. I am not 100% sure that the CL has ABS rotors or not, they might, I honestly haven't checked. And if they do, whether or not they have the ABS sensor mounts as well, hard to say, on the hub.
It'd be an expensive project, I have not considered it for a moment.
