Have a 2009 and I put a bug deflector on it. It cost me six percent on my gas mileage. I did this survey over six months (same time of year [09-10]) and twenty tanks of gas. Needless to say, the deflector is in a land fill somewhere. The mileage is back up to where it was when I bought the car around 31 MPG.

That's the same thing that happens with the windows open and the A/C off. The open windows cause a drag and the mileage drops more that way. Of course, in town it's the other way around.

If you'd slow down from 80mph you'd only lose 3% mileage with the deflector on!!!

I have covers on my Durango, fronta nd over the windows, but as it gets 12mpg on a god day in winter I don't notice a 0.1 or 0.2mpg difference in mileage.

A friend of mine freely admits that he saw a mileage increase in his Corolla after he lost 75lbs. A lot of folks don't realize what weight can do to mileage, especially economy vehicles.

The speed limit is for me-I got tired of paying tickets. I drive for the best gas mileage. For the short haul speeding will not buy you much. Now 5 MPH over for ten hours that's something.
