So I have a FM transmitter for an iPod. It plugs into a cigarette lighter to power up. It works just fine in my Hyundai, but I tried it in my girlfriend's 2001 Focus and it won't even power up. Her cigaarette lighter works, but this is the first time we tried to plug an electronic device into it.

Is there something strange about the wiring in it, or maybe there's a seperate plug for charging things? I know my Ranger had a second one.

Any help would be appreciated.

Nothng special, it's just that some chargers don't fit right. I had one, and my phone charger was to tight of a fit to seat properly. I just replaced the cig. lighter, fairly easy on most vehicles.

Maybe the connector from your Ipod doesn't make good contact, for example the lighter just has a smaller connector instead of the usual metal cylinder :)
