I can not open the driver's side door of my 2001 Focus. The handle on the inside sticks out and will not return to its regular position and the outside handle will pull out only half way. Locking and unlocking does nothing. I think I'm screwed. I cant get to the torx screws on the side of the door to open up the panel. Any suggestions?

You'll have to take the inner panel off. Climb in through the passenger side and remove the panel (most pieces pop out with a flat blade screwdriver). Be careful though as the clips will probably be made of plastic. Under the inner panel there will (should) be a clear plastic film also known as a vapour barrier. You'll have to peel it back around the lock area to fiddle around with the mechanism. If anything else, the assembly came loose and all it needs is a quick adjustment and tightening. Also, don't use the front doors as a leverage point to get in and out of the car as it will also have an effect on weather sealing and locking ability down the road.

i agree with him same thing happend to my focus haha
