Hi my first post here

Anyway i have just bought a 02 52reg focus 1.8 tdci 115bhp diesel with only 72k on the clock the problem im having is on tick over i get a bad knocking sound from under the bonet i dont think its anything to do with the engine as it go's like a rocket and a small touch on the throttle and the sound has gone

Also my engine warning light keeps coming on and going of any help please like i say the car go's very well starts very well drives very well its just the loud knocking sound only does it on idle and pressing in the cluch doesnt make any difference you have to tap the thottle to get rid of it

Update the sound seems to be getting better on its own maybe been standing a long time

Anyway as soon as the weather gets better im doing a oil and filter change gona check the gearbox oil level and fit a new starter motor as i'v been doing lots of reading and found out the starter motor is the cause of lots of problems including knocking and baging sounds lol
