Hi,

since a few days the blower motor makes a squealing noise on low fan speeds. When I turn the speed to 4 and then back to 1 or 2 it goes away for a while but it returns later on. Is there a bearing that should be lubricated? What kind of oil? How easy is it to access it? I know that it is behind the glove compartment but I don't know how the motor can be removed.

There's really no maintenance you can do on a blower motor other than replace.

Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.

Remove the footwell lower trim panel.

1. Open the glove compartment.

2. Remove the footwell vent air duct.

3. Pull off the hose.

4. Close the glove compartment.

5. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.

6.Remove the blower motor.

To install:

1. Install the blower motor and securely tighten the screws.

2. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.

3. Open the glove compartment and attach the footwell vent air duct.

4. Close the glove compartment.

5. Install the footwell lower trim panel

Probably the hamster p***** off and wanting relieved from turning that bloody wheel for the last nine years!!!! Joking aside , you could try a light spray of WD40 , won't do any harm on spindle / shaft . If not successful , take JWKO"S advice .

OK, thanks. I used some graphite oil for the bushings. After 450 kilometers the noise has not yet returned - touch wood.
