I bought a accident damaged car that was spose to be an easy repair.It is except it does not start even though it is spose to.I got a cheap OBD11 U380 memoscanner which when installed says linking error and the engine on the dash says engine malfunction.I know the scanner works because I tried it on my Dads 2007 Mondeo.Does anyone have any advice please?

Does it get spark and fuel? When you turn the key on, does the fuel pump run for a few seconds?

Yes it does. I'm now wondering if it is because the batterie has been flat and the immobiliser is not recognising the key.
