Focus came into work today

The first focused rolled into wrok today. It was anavy blue base model 1.8 Zetec manual. I did not get to do the pre-delivery on it but I had a good look none the less.

Supposidly it drove very well, but was abit gutless. hey, what do you expect for a base model? One negative was that the front little honeucomb grille with the Ford badge was loose. Two of the bottom scrivets which hold it in place were not there. I guess it's not hard to find two falcon scrivets from the back counter though!

This was only a demo model. It was bound for the showroom floor. I am not sure when they go on sale but I'm sure they will be rolling off the trucks and into the pre-delivery workshop quite soon.

It was however dissapoiting to hear alot of mechanics thoughts of it. "Euro peice of sh!t". "KA on steroids". I guess these poeple will never buy them but I hope the buying public reacts a bit more positively. I guess when you compare it to the Holden Astra it makes it alot more attractive.

it always amazes me to hear dickheads who reckon they 'know all about cars' fail to appreciate that different cars serve different purposes. there is a good reason why europeans drive smaller cars. the cities are tighter, space is at a premium and fuel is very expensive. for a mechanic to bag something like this because it is a 4 pot is plain stupid. what would be truly funny would be when that same focus runs rings around their statesman / hz / other assorted oversize and underpowered ill-handling piece of shit on a nice twisty road.

i think the public could well take to the focus. there seems to be a large number of astras on the roads...and i think they are a good looking car...and the ford should provide some competition.

there...i feel better now that is off my chest.

Yes we had a silver 5 door come in today. So far we have the same as you a navy blue and silver. The silver was the 2.0L zetec.

The 5 doors look okay, but i'm sure the 3 door looks better, and the ST170 should look great. I am also looking forward to seeing the sedans.
