Hi all,
First off, Im new here so ill introduce myself as Phil. I live in UK and have a Silver 3dr 1.8 Zetec Focus.
I've just got over a staring problem with a new starter motor.

I now have a problem where the engine and wheels wont connect. The engine runs, sounds like normal, but you can put the car in gear with or without using clutch and car wont do anything. When you press the clutch in it makes a horrible grating/scraping noise. It went last night as I was driving home, car suddenly just started revving and slowing down.
I have no idea what it could be, ideas are that its broken gearbox, clutch or differential. But im not a mechanic hence asking you guys!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello Phil. Unfortunately I cannot offer any help, except to say my 52 plate focus tdci 115 has a similar problem, amongst other problems. Please do let us know the details of sorting it if you get time.
