Focus Letter - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Yesterday in the mail I got a letter (well more of a brochure really...or maybe best described as promotional material) from Ford about the "rally bred focus". In it it says that if I go for a test drive before 31st December and get the dealer to stamp this thing I can get a free 6 month subscription to one of about 10 magazines (including Ralph, Motor, Wheels, Money).

I have always been interested in the Focus, so I might now go test drive one...not just because of this promotion mind you.

One question though...do dealers let P Platers go on test drives? I think they do...but I am not sure.

I think they do... as long as you display the plates, of course.

Worth a test drive, to be sure... especially with an incentive like that! What do ya have to lose! Except maybe 25 thou when you decide to buy one!!

they should do....they'll probably ask u to sign an insurance form....some do, some don't. but they'll probably make sure to come with you. depends on the dealer, my dealer is cool, let me take the car overnight...

nah Zantetsuken he won't lose 25 thou!! He'll gain a Focus and that's worth it's weight in Gold he he. I have test driven an ST170 lately and I am thinking of doing a dodgy (even though I own a Focus already) and going the ol "I heard those ST170s there are a bit of alright. Would love to test drive one to see if I can trade my Zetec and upgrade" hmmm. Sound worth it to me for a 2nd drive of the ST170!!! I got the same letter the other day. Free magazines sound great, already got free motor show tickets. I can't complain!!!! Must say Foci are starting to be advertised heaps which rocks.

Of course I will let everyone how I go (and how the Focus goes)....everyone on here is like my second family
!!!

I think I am a bit young (with not enough money) to actually buy a new Focus....maybe a year or 2 down the track I could get a 2nd hand one.

Yeah, keep us posted, I'd be interested to know not only if P platers are able to test drive cars, but also what YOU think of the focus after driving one (that is, if they let you...)

For some reason I was under the impression P platers can't go on test drives - I'd LOVE to be proven wrong on that one! Somehow I don't think they'd let me test-drive a GT...

you might be able to buy my zetec from me if the st170 prices do go down to 27grand....i'll upgrade! heh heh. well....i'd like to anyway. i thought about test driving a gt....but then i thought...nah bugga it....i'll just take out the old mans gt-p instead. lol
