Focus Ownership Happiness Levels

Over the last couple weeks, I have had to deal with the deaths of a few friends, moving house (still in progress), a fair few work related travels requirements, and the most frustrating girl in the world.

One thing that I have drawn on/ used heavily and been able to take for granted was the Focus, whether frustration was vented onto it, leading Commodore cruises to my friends funerals, using it as a workhorse to move, or spending time down at the beach.

The only problem I have had with it was a software reload once a few weeks back, otherwise the car has never missed a beat since day two, on day one I stalled it - twice!

And through the whole thing, occassionally when I'd look at the car I'd still think, yeah, I like that...

I know some of you are having issues with your Foci at the moment, which sucks to hear. Of course, I hope these get resolved efficiently.

Feel free to post a favorite photo of your Focus, perhaps one we haven't seen before, tell me what you think about it.

I, for one, appreciate being able to take the car for granted. It's easy just to post when you have a problem, so here is another of my warm fuzzy feeling thread. My Focus has earned itself another year of ownership, which may take it to the longest ownership period of any of the 9 cars I have owned or currently own! Two years and beyond! Phwoar!

Regards, Tim

Re: Focus Ownership Happiness Levels

I rated the top choice because I am so in love with my car that it verges on weird... but you get that!!! I have had one major engine drama which was fixed immediately, although I put the inability to totally fix the problem down to the Dealership's mistake and not the car itself, which has subsequently caused a few minor issues since then...

Broken engine mount was 99% fixed but lead to vibrations, where it was re-fixed after they discovered it was 2mm off perfect about a month later, then it was liquid gold forever until I have recently lost engine braking which I believe is attributable to the engine mount issue but it can't be traced. But the car is perfect and blows everything away in my books for handling, looks and fun, individuality and originality. Still pulls looks every day and it is only tinted and 2 inches lower. Now that's a good car!!!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT but most of all I love the people who drive them, they're non-biased (me excluded) and friendly, helpful folk who love a good little car when they see one. Hurrah for the Focus, Hurrah for Tim's thread and his joint efforts in getting this forum and club to be what it is today and Hurrah for the Euro Ford Club!!!

Re: Focus Ownership Happiness Levels

I might answer this one after i get my focus back this afternoon....

but apart from the clutch issue I have had I am really happy with my focus, it looks nice, goes well (when the clutch is operational) and handles nice, its got all the things I want in a car (power windows, a/c, power steer) and with a couple of mods it should do me for a few years yet.

Re: Focus Ownership Happiness Levels

I'm getting things done to mine; not because the Zetec lacks anything, but more because I like to have it the way I want. Mind you, what I am doing to it is rather mild and can be considered tweaks.
btw zantetsuken, my condolences for your recent loss

My mum got a Focus SR, its a zippy little car, compared to her festiva. its alright no probs so far, my mum and dad are both very happy with it. And to Zantetsuken i have seen that very (your) focus driving round newcastle, i had a look at it and i luv it, very nice. Almost wish i could do that type of things to my mums, but ohh well.

Re: Focus Ownership Happiness Levels

hmmm im meh about the car thesedays, im starting to like it less now then when i first got it

its a good car, besides having to take it back for a fair bit of warranty work and then to 3 different dealers who cant find the problems with it, then to telling me they found it and its not a warranty issue so will cost to fix it, and after paying to have it fixed the problems are still there...

i am just fed up, i certainly will not be buying another focus once this one has run its course... cant trade in at present as i will lose to much, so at this stage its unfortunate to say i am stuck with the car for another 1-2 years at least.

who knows this may change over time, but might pay the car off and then just store it seen as it is a bit of a "special" model, or might get rid of it asap..
