guess the post whore at least can reply... so here goes
I reckon it's cool! Would make for a great ad on TV with the smoke billowing around the car and then it taking off down the strip, whatever... that'd definitely be a different approach to advertising!!
But, the US market for the Focus is very different to here and Europe, it must be said. Anyone ever figure out why the US market call the engine a Zetec and in Europe it's a Duratec?
Not sure what you mean by that, the States has a few extra engines to us, but the SVT (equivelant to the ST170) has the Duratec as well, as far as I know. According to the US Focus sites and some performance build up books I have, anyway. The new Focus range released in the UK has Duratec engines across the range, Zetec is dead pretty much there. The whole Fiesta range comes out with Duratec engines currently as well.
As for the rap, its pretty funny, can't see it quite making the Top 40!
Thanks for the find and hosting, Chris!

How much boost?
Yes, Zetec production stopped around 3 weeks ago now. It is no longer used. But the SVT had Zetec plastered over it's cam cover and was advertised as using a Zetec engine, nota Duratec, even though it is a Duratec...
Lincoln I thought that was because the Duratec is basically a worked over warmed up Zetec engine anyway. The Duratec isn't a brand new engine in the ST170 from my understanding.
The Zetec engine is officially dead then if it's no longer being made in the new Focus or Fiesta... how sad, such a great base engine. But if the 1.6 Twin Cam unit in the Fiesta is anything to go by, then he engine the next focus gets shouldn't be too sahbby hopefully, a nice little Mazda unit I think the magazines were saying.
The ST has a Zetec block, but with a Duratec head on it, I believe. It's just interesting that Ford US chose to market the whole engine as being a Zetec, whilst in Europe they went the other way.
