The Ford Focus is the industry leader in reliability for cars between one and three years old, according to an independent report published today.
The Auto Report 2002, published a German industry body, compared data from 1.5 million cars that came in to mechanics to be tested under the equivalent of the British MoT. It compared a total of 107 different models from all car makers represented in the German car market.
Nearly 93 per cent of all Ford Focus cars examined had no fault whatsoever and Focus was the first none Japanese model to win since 1987, with the lowest fault rate in the last ten years.
Jeez that's good news. Ford should make the Public more aware of this, well especially in Europe but the car sounds exceptional by the reports and I think it would sell well here as we all have mentioned previously. Ford need some good news, especially as thier reliability credenitals have been tarnished so much in recent times.

Great news. Ford need this plastered everwhere and then sell the Focus downunder. The challenge for Ford is to have more cars like this in the lineup. The Japenese have good quality standards in their cars and Ford must get the message.

You are right. They should be shouting this from the roof tops!

Pity it's the exact oposite in the U.S regarding Ford's reliability there. :crazy1:
Sorry to say boys and girls I've experienced Ford reliability first hand in a 16 year old motor . The Capri went for its M.o.t. test last september and passed the emmissions test with flying colours !!!!!!
Modified engine by a non-proffesional mechanic ,104.000 miles on the clock and did not need adjusting !!!!!
Now thats what I call engineering!!!!!!!
If the Focus can do half as good we have another cult classic on our hands just like the original Escorts and there Crossflows .

very impressive John. I take it the non proffesional mechanic was you?
Yeah it was me which in itself was quite a feat , I've repaired a SU carb in a mini B4 , replaced a clutch in a Datsun Sunny , changed the rocker cover gasket in a Rover Metro but rebuilt a V6 ..... nah , so to say I was apprehensive is an understatement !!!!!!
But getting the rolling road session booked as soon as I get the cash (selling the mini cooper replica ) and as soon as this is done I have to think of next year as the shell is useless (falling apart everywhere ) so whas thinking of taking it all and dumping it in a MKI or MKII Capri .
